Diadra Empty is a new style of SHMUPS because has RPG and strategy elements. You will explore through maps and shoot enemies indicated on the radar. The style is essentially open room map exploration shooting and a bit complex, but the music and bosses are simply amazing.
The game provides you with a few options to start and as you play and pass certain criteria you unlock more. As you go, you unlock new weapon and option types, and eventually will unlock the option to start with "Full Equip", which basically starts you out with all of your stats upgraded to level 5 (not max level for all of them, but good enough).
The game has Natural and "True" modes, with natural being fairly normal and "True" mode being a bit more difficult. After clearing True Mode you also unlock the Extra stages, which are essentially the definition of bullet hell.
